How We Support Financial Educators and Communities Across MENA
Leading Training & Credentials for Financial Educators
The NFEC’s Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI) program has empowered more than 5,000 trained and certified educators worldwide. Collectively, our graduates have invested more than 300,000 hours in professional development and delivered financial education to 1.4 million learners across 71+ countries and every U.S. state.
At the heart of our mission is the standards framework we created to elevate the field of financial education. The Framework for Teaching Personal Finance – developed with the Danielson Group and aligned to InTASC principles – outlines the essential knowledge, skills, and observable practices that define exceptional financial educators. Earning the CFEI designation demonstrates that an instructor meets these benchmarks and brings a high level of rigor, ethical conduct, and instructional mastery to every learning experience they lead.

Community Mobilization – Local Chapter Leadership
Our country chapters are where the real momentum happens. They take instructor training and turn it into hands on action – advocating for local needs, supporting communities, and rolling out financial wellness programs that actually scale. Whether it’s teaching life changing money skills or teaming up with local leaders, NFEC chapters show up for community organizations and celebrate their wins through award events that honor standout students, educators, and community champions.
Each chapter is guided by a local Advisory Board that focuses on three major priorities: 1) Empowerment means giving individuals and families the confidence and know how to make smart financial decisions. 2) Advocacy is about running campaigns that influence policy and secure funding. And 3) Relationships center on building strong partnerships with schools, employers, media, and policymakers to drive adoption and long term sustainability. Together, these pillars help turn classroom learning into real, measurable change in people’s lives.
National Advocacy with Community Impact
The NFEC is igniting a nationwide movement to ensure that every student graduates from high school equipped with the money skills that power lifelong independence. Through a bold, multi-dimensional advocacy strategy, we’re raising expectations, shifting public perception, influencing policy, and transforming the systems that allow financial illiteracy to persist. By uniting mission aligned partners, establishing rigorous national standards, and driving legislative progress, we’re positioning financial wellness as a top priority across the education, health, and economic sectors.
Our United for Financial Literacy Advocacy Committee brings together passionate champions who are ready to take action. Each quarter, we rally around a high impact campaign designed to advance financial wellness and accelerate meaningful change.
