Honoring Financial Educators with Awards Across MENA

Educators shape futures. Their influence reaches far beyond lessons or materials – they spark the confidence and habits that change lives. At the National Financial Educators Council, we celebrate the dedicated individuals across MENA who turn financial education into meaningful, lasting progress for their learners.

We honor instructors and program leaders whose commitment results in measurable growth, thriving initiatives, and stronger financial literacy advocacy. Our Financial Educators Day recognition and Program Spotlights highlight those teachers who uplift their communities and show what’s possible when passion meets purpose.

These celebrations showcase the educators whose work becomes a blueprint for others across MENA to build upon.

National Financial Educator Day MENA

Financial Educators Day is all about celebrating the people who help their communities build stronger money skills. Yes, it honors teachers – but it also shines a light on volunteers, financial professionals, community leaders, and anyone else who takes the time to share financial knowledge. Their dedication makes a real difference, and this day is our chance to say thank you.

Each year, the celebration happens on the last Friday of April. Thanks to early support from politicians, celebrities, and organizations in the financial literacy space, that day has grown into a moment of recognition, appreciation, and advocacy for financial education everywhere.

Since its launch in 2014, Financial Educators Day has honored more than 1,000 individuals across 43 countries. Award recipients have come from places including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Israel, and Egypt – showing just how global and meaningful this movement has become.

NFEC Graduate Spotlight

Maryam Masoumi

Financial Services Professional & Financial Literacy Advocate

My name is Maryam Moasumi, and I have been teaching financial literacy to children and teenagers for 10 years. My teaching method is based on questioning and dialogue, and I try to encourage children to think critically. In addition to my CFEI certification, I have also received training in systems thinking, and I try to combine these two approaches in my classes. I offer both in-person and online classes. In my in-person classes, I use games and other activities to make learning fun and engaging. I have also written two books on financial literacy for parents, which have been published in Iran. Here are some of my qualifications and experience: 10 years of experience teaching financial literacy to children and teenagers, the NFEC (Certified Financial Education Instructor) certification, training in systems thinking, and the author of two books on financial literacy for parents. I am passionate about helping children and teenagers develop the financial skills they need to succeed in life. I believe that financial literacy is an essential life skill that everyone should have, and I am committed to providing high-quality financial education to children and teenagers of all ages.

Sanja has been a member of the Viking Voices Toastmasters Club since 2016, and has been the president of her local club since 2019.
